Secret Garden
I am so happy with how this session turned out! It could have been an utter disaster had I been at any other location. This particular location is phenomenal, and it just happens to be my in-laws' home! Every nook and cranny filled with flowers, statues, swings, ornaments, and winding paths; every corner more photogenic than the next. The sun comes in just right in the evening to bathe the whole yard in golden sunlight. I have shot family sessions here for years. This was the first time I ever brought a client. I am just beginning the shoot and all of a sudden my memory card is FULL! I have no idea why, there's only 200 photos on there. What's happening?!?!? I head to my bag to get another and it's not there! Here I am with a client, I have only taken 20 images into our shoot and I'm stuck. Enter my father-in-law! I rush in and ask him to clear the card onto his computer so I can keep shooting. 10 minutes later he emerges out of the garage with a clean memory card! I ended up shooting a bit longer than normal. Partly, making up for my ridiculous mistake and because this girl was an absolute doll to shoot! She smiled, posed, had a blast exploring the yard, and she loved her wardrobe changes! She just chilled and let me take as many pictures as I wanted. Such a cutie! Moral of the story: always shoot at your in-laws so they can save you when you need it, and make sure your client is a super chill kid (and parents) who kept their cool when you made a HUGE mistake because well, there's a fountain with water and rocks. Nothing else mattered to her <3
