Wedding
A couple of weekends ago I took on my biggest session yet, a wedding!
I have known this bride for several years and I have photographed her in the past long before this was a business. She approached me at the beginning of this year asking if I would take this on for her. I, of course was flattered but also terrified! I agreed and I'm so happy that I did. Her confidence in me from the beginning is truly what kept me going throughout the whole day. I had never done anything of this magnitude, she knew that, and she trusted me implicitly. She exuded such a calm presence all day that I couldn't help but be relaxed and in my element. I won't lie though once the day was said and done I was so terrified to look at the images! I went over and over in my head on the drive home (oh yeah it was in Ohio, so that was a whole other element to firsts) what shots I missed, what I could have done better, what shots I did get and praying they turned out. It took me a week to put that SD cards in the slot and scan through them. What if I missed a shot? What if the lighting was terrible in all of them? What if they were blurry and not in an artistic sort of way? All these thoughts and more kept fishing in my brain. On a wedding day you have a minuet amount of time to check settings in between the thousands of pictures you are taking. You have to know your gear inside and out. You have to know your skill inside and out. I feel like I do and that I know what I'm doing. But, with something this big of course you have doubts about yourself the first time! Overall I'd say I did well for my first time. I was beyond lucky enough to have the sweetest, most patient second shooter Molly! She is a local and had shot at the ceremony location before. She was so great at helping me coordinate everyone and make sure we got all the shots that we needed before, during, and after the ceremony. She's one of a kind! If you're ever in Cincinnati and need a photographer look her up. You won't be disappointed! I couldn't have done this day with out her! A HUGE thank you to the bride and groom for trusting me with their day! He had told me that he "only has a select few genuine smiles and I better catch them all." Well I think I did an OK job at that!
This is just a SMALL preview of the hundreds still left to sort and edit. For now, enjoy and be on the lookout for more =]
